Mandatory Vaccination: Human rights must not put the country in danger – gov’t

The government says nobody can rely on human rights and end up putting the health of the entire country at risk.

Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare made this statement in responding to some Ghanaians refusing to take the COVID-19 jab.

He argued that the Health Minister can invoke the Public Health Act which for the purposes of the good of all give little or no regard to the basic principles of Human Rights.

He, therefore, advised the general public to avail themselves for vaccination in order to ve safe and protect the lives of their friends and families too.

The country cannot spend on recalcitrant civilians with the excuse of Human Rights, he said.

Some sections of Ghanaians are refusing to take the covid vaccines due to legal and religious basis. However, the government has targeted to vaccinate 20 million of the country’s adult population by end of this year.
