Kwesi Arthur has fired back at his critics who voiced their disapproval of his performance at the Are We African Yet ( A.W.A.Y. ) Festival in Atlanta, organized by Nigerian music star Davido.
The A.W.A.Y. Festival, was a one-day event organized to promote cultural collaboration and exportation between Africa and the world. It’s meant to provide a platform for artists from Africa to showcase their talent and connect with a global audience.
Prior to the festival , his fans expressed their excitement when he was announced as one of the artists to perform . However, after his performance at the festival surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, there’s been several conversations, with music enthusiasts and critics expressing their disappointment over his performance.
Critics argued that he should have performed his popular songs instead of lesser-known ones and raised concerns about his low energy level and tone throughout his performance.
While some critics claim that Kwesi Arthur’s career is declining, his fans have expressed concerns about his emotional well-being.
Amidst all this brouhaha, Kwesi broke the silence, taking to X (Twitter) and facing the critics head-on. He first expressed his gratitude to Davido for giving him the opportunity to perform at his concert. He then went ahead to address the critics, stating he would have still performed if the attendees at the concert were just two.
“I see y’all comments. Even if there were 2 people in the arena I would have still performed. I go need y’all to shove your opinions up your ass”, he said in his tweet.
