Our system was not hacked, results are safe – WAEC clarifies

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) says their database was not hacked as being published in the public domain.

According to the Head, Public Affairs at WAEC, Agnes Teye Cudjoe, there was a technical hitch experienced on its website where candidates who sat for the WASSCE this year checked their results.

The technical hitch resulted in the change of results.

According to WAEC, the original results of some subjects which had a score of B3 were changed to A1 with the interpretation of Good showing.

WAEC said the system was subsequently shut down and the problem was resolved.

It asked the public to trust the system because it was still intact.

One of the Council’s platforms, ERESULTS.WAECGH.ORG, used for checking of results experienced a technical hitch on Friday, 10th December 2021 between 4.45 p.m. and 6.00 p.m.

Mrs. Cudjoe however said the results were not affected by the technical hitch.
