The Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST) has launched a Community STEM Club, an initiative aimed at empowering youth in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The launch, which took place today, February 14, 2025, was themed “Transforming and Empowering Tomorrow’s Minds through STEM.”
Speaking at the event, UEW’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Stephen Jobson Mitchual, emphasized the importance of STEM education in fostering critical thinking, innovation, and effective communication.
“STEM education is the order of the day because modern education that is effective trains people to be critical thinkers, to be innovators, to be good communicators and so without that education becomes vain,” he emphasized.

David Asumadu Boateng, founder and CEO of AsuSTEM Robotics Academy, assured that the Impact Academy will be held every Saturday to support the youth in Effutu.

The Community STEM Club is set to provide a platform for nurturing innovation and creativity among youth in the Effutu municipality.
Partnering organizations include EMPOWER Playgrounds, AsuSTEM Robotics Academy, and the Centre for Educational Policy Studies.
