Presidential hopefuls of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Kwabena Agyapong, Kennedy Agyapong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum have congratulated former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia following provisional results that project him as the winner of the party’s flagbearer primary.
They made the congratulatory remarks in a phone call to Dr Bawumia after early results from the polls showed the Vice President in a commanding lead across several constituencies.
According to them, while they had hoped to emerge victorious, they respect the decision of delegates, describing the outcome as one endorsed by God and reflective of the democratic will of the party.

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for his victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race.
He urged the party to come together and secure victory in 2028.
“Tonight is the night of renewal. Let me congratulate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on his decisive victory and the over 200000 delegates who turned out to vote. Your verdict is unmistakable. Lead with a big heart, decisiveness, clarity of purpose, all of us behind you,” he said.
“I know he will lead us back to victory,” he added.
