Mahama Ayariga replaces Ato Forson as Majority Leader

Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga, has been officially appointed as the new Majority Leader in Parliament, succeeding Cassiel Ato Forson, who now serves as the Minister of Finance.

The reshuffle, which is expected to bring strategic realignment within the Majority Caucus, also sees Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi, poised to assume the position of Majority Chief Whip.

He is set to replace Governs Agbodza, who recently transitioned to the role of Minister for Roads and Highways.

Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South, is tipped to become the Deputy Majority Leader, taking over from Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who has moved to the Ministry of Energy.

Additionally, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the current Second Deputy Whip, is rumoured to be in line for promotion to the position of First Deputy Whip. This potential elevation would further strengthen the majority leadership team on the front bench.

The reshuffle reflects efforts by the leadership of the Majority Caucus to ensure effective coordination and stability as newly sworn-in ministers adjust to their respective roles.

The changes are aimed at fostering collaboration between Parliament and the executive branch to advance the government’s policy agenda and national development goals.

Further announcements regarding these leadership adjustments are expected in the coming days.
