The National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, says the newly introduced system in the ongoing security service recruitment makes it difficult for politicians to manipulate the process or influence selections along partisan lines.

According to him, although Members of Parliament are given recruitment slots, applicants must still meet the required standards and successfully pass all stages of the recruitment process before they can be admitted.
Speaking on the ongoing security service recruitment, Mr. Vanderpuye explained that the system has been structured to ensure fairness, transparency, and merit-based selection.
He emphasized that political endorsements alone are not enough to secure a place in the security services, noting that all applicants must go through the necessary screening, medical examinations, and other assessment stages before final selection.
Mr. Vanderpuye added that the reforms are aimed at preventing political interference and ensuring that only qualified individuals are recruited into the country’s security services.
