Parliament is set to commence the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the Christmas recess that ended the First Session in December 2025.]

Ahead of the resumption, the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business have held engagements with Ministers of State to review and align legislative priorities for the new session.
Several bills, statements on key national issues, and questions to Ministers are expected to be laid before the House during the sitting.
Among the key matters scheduled for consideration are issues relating to illegal mining, as well as the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill—commonly referred to as the Anti-LGBT Bill—which is expected to generate intense debate on the floor of Parliament.

Elikem Kotoko, the Deputy CEO of the Forestry Commission of Ghana, said the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) remains incorruptible.
His comment comes after the officers rejected a bribe from illegal miners in the Ahanta West Municipality.
According to him, the officers have rejected several monetary offers in the Eastern Region, Western North region, among others.
Some pledged to pay GH20,000, while others have been pledging 2million cedis bribe.
He announced that the officers are determined to execute the mandate given to them by the president.
