Ghana leads Group I with 15 points from six games, three clear of Comoros and five ahead of Madagascar. With only four matches left to play, victories in these two encounters could put the four-time African champions on the brink of direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

With qualification within touching distance, the Black Stars know that six points from these fixtures could secure their passage to yet another World Cup, maintaining Ghana’s proud tradition on the global stage.
The Ghana Football Association has already rolled out a detailed program for the team’s preparations. The Black Stars will assemble in Accra on Monday, September 1, with the first training session open to both the media and fans. A closed-door session will follow on Tuesday, September 2, before the squad departs for Chad that evening.
After the away clash, the team is expected back in Accra on Friday, September 5, for a recovery session also open to the public. Final preparations for the Mali encounter will then include closed training on Saturday, September 6, and a restricted media session on Sunday, September 7.
Both fixtures are expected to test Ghana’s resolve, with Mali sitting close behind in the group standings and Chad desperate to upset the odds on home soil. Hughton’s men will rely on the experience of skipper Thomas Partey, in-form Mohammed Kudus, and striker Antoine Semenyo to deliver crucial results.
