The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced plans to implement a new prize structure for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) that will reward clubs based on their final position in the league table, rather than limiting significant payouts to the eventual champions.
This was announced by President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, during the 31st Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman soccer of excellence in Prampram.

The League winner will take home a trophy and cash prize of GHC 2million and 40 gold medals, while the 1st and 2nd Runner up receive GHC 1 million, 40 silver medals, and GHC800,000, 40 Bronze medals respectively.
The new model is part of a broader deal that will see each Ghana Premier League club receive GHS 1 million ahead of the 2024/25 season.
In addition to this financial support, clubs will also receive performance-based bonuses at the end of the campaign.
The GFA believes the revamped model will bring financial stability to clubs, reduce player exodus, and attract investment.
