The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, has outlined several measures put in place to boost food production nationwide.
He mentioned that some of the initiatives, such as crop development, which aims to boost productivity in grains, legumes, vegetables, and starchy crops, use SMART Agriculture.

He added that key interventions such as improved seeds, mechanization, irrigation, storage, and training have been put in place to address low yields, high post-harvest losses, and climate challenges.
Hon. Eric Opoku made this known when he appeared before the House to answer a number of questions relating to his Ministry.
When asked if the ministry is going to assist the schools in terms of getting the farm lands in production, and are the schools are going to produce for export or for the school’s consumption alone?
This is the minister’s response.
