The Muslim Councils commend Mahama for declaring Eid public holidays.

The Federation of Muslim Councils (FMC) has expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for declaring March 31 and April 1, 2025, as public holidays to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. This move fulfills the President’s campaign promise to the Muslim community and addresses the challenges Muslims face in observing the festival due to the lunar calendar.

The FMC acknowledged that the extended holiday will foster unity, inclusivity, and religious tolerance in Ghana, allowing Muslims to celebrate with family and loved ones. They commended the president’s leadership in promoting national unity and social cohesion.

In a press statement, the FMC encouraged all Muslims in Ghana to make the most of the opportunity to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and continue promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding. The statement concluded with a heartfelt “Eid Mubarak” to all Muslims in Ghana and around the world!
