The Blue Water Guards will deliver – Commander.

Commodore Emmanuel Ayensu Kwafo, Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command under whose supervision the Water Guard is being trained, said the Ghana Navy says his team will deliver on its mandate.

He said the Navy has been dreaming of being part of this initiative to help solve pollution.

He therefore charged the first batch of 460 Blue Water Guards, who will provide 24-hour monitoring and protection of the nation’s water bodies, to work harder.

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has launched the government’s flagship Blue Water Initiative, aimed at restoring polluted water resources.

As part of the initiative, he announced the commencement of a four-week training program for the first batch of 460 Blue Water Guards, who will provide 24-hour monitoring and protection of the nation’s water bodies.

The minister emphasized that the Blue Water Guards will serve as vigilant stewards, safeguarding water resources from the devastating effects of illegal mining. He also revealed plans to train and deploy 2,000 guards nationwide in the coming months.
