President John Mahama has taken a proactive step by directing the Lands Commission to temporarily suspend all activities related to the sale, lease, or processing of transactions involving State and Public Lands. This decision aims to ensure that these valuable resources are preserved for the benefit of both current and future generations.
In an official statement released by the Secretary to the President on Friday, January 10, the President emphasized the importance of conducting a thorough review of the existing framework governing the management of State and Public Lands. To facilitate this process, all ongoing and pending transactions will be put on hold.
Additionally, the President has requested that the Lands Commission provide a comprehensive report detailing all recent and ongoing transactions related to these lands, to be submitted to the Office of the President within 14 days. This initiative reflects a commitment to responsible land management and transparency in governance.
