My govt has no animosity towards the judiciary – Mahama.

President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed claims of animosity between his administration and the judiciary, emphasizing his government’s openness to working with the legal fraternity.

Speaking on the matter during a meeting with the Ghana Bar Association on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Mahama addressed perceptions of tension, assuring that his administration values collaboration with the judiciary to strengthen governance.

“Government is open to working with you, particularly on our side of the political divide. There’s this perception that we have a problem with the legal fraternity and things like that,” Mahama stated.

He pointed to the individuals in his administration, including Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, as evidence of the government’s respect for the judiciary.

Mahama reiterated that his administration harbors no hostility toward the judiciary or the legal profession, adding, “We’re not people who have any such animosity towards the judiciary and the legal fraternity. So our doors are open.”
