President John Dramani Mahama is thrilled about the Black Stars’ 5-0 win over Chad in their 2026 World Cup qualifying match. He jokingly said that the victory gave him a good appetite for dinner.
Mahama congratulated the team on their impressive performance, praising goals from Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohamed Salifu, and Ernest Nuamah that secured the win at the Accra Sports Stadium

However, Mahama also cautioned the team against complacency, urging them to stay focused as they continue their campaign. “Let this victory not make us complacent. This should be the beginning of bringing back the love,” he noted.
The Black Stars are now leading Group I with 12 points, two points ahead of Madagascar, whom they’ll face on Monday, March 24, in Morocco. Former President Mahama’s excitement is infectious, and his “Aban Papa Aba” phrase, meaning “it’s all over” or “it’s done,” has become a rallying cry for Ghanaians celebrating the team’s success
