President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Sierra Leone for an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two West African nations.
The visit is expected to deepen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and regional affairs.

Ghana and Sierra Leone have a longstanding relationship, defined by mutual support in times of crisis and joint development efforts.
In January 2025, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone attended President Mahama’s inauguration in Accra, reinforcing the strong ties between the two countries.
President Mahama’s visit is expected to build on this relationship, promoting economic growth and stability in the region.
Both nations are key members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and their cooperation is seen as crucial to advancing peace and development in West Africa.
President Mahama said Ghana is ready to work with other nations in addressing challenges confronting the nation.
