The national vetting of candidates for appointment as Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) is taking place today at the Local Government Institute in Madina, Accra. Among the aspirants being vetted are three candidates from the Effutu Municipal Assembly are Okailey, Abraham Henry Arthur, and Rev. Atta Mensah.

Ahead of the vetting, the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Effutu Dr. James Kofi Annan has extended his best wishes to the three aspirants, urging them to be well-prepared for the process. He also called on them to accept the outcome of the vetting, regardless of the decision made.
Dr. Kofi Annan further pledged his support to all three candidates, stating his willingness to work with whoever is chosen for the position.
In a message to NDC supporters, he appealed for unity, encouraging them to rally behind the selected candidate to strengthen the party’s unity and development efforts in the constituency.
