The Minority in Parliament is requesting that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang be present in the House on Tuesday, March 18, to participate in the debate on the 2025 Budget.
This request is based on Article 111 of the constitution, which allows the Vice President to take part in parliamentary proceedings.

The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah reacting to the presentation of the Business Statement for next week stated that the Vice President’s extensive experience in the education sector should be reflected in the government’s economic and financial policy.
“The Business Committee has made allocations for ministers of state leaving out the Vice President who has been very quiet and it will be very important to have to see her in action on the floor to debate the President’s economic and financial policy, especially having been a former Minister of Education.
“And so I will want the Business Committee to amend the Business Paper and have a time allotted for the Vice President to be here since she is the first female Vice President she is permitted by the constitution to participate.”

However, Isaac Adongo, Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central said the request is unfounded.
He argued that the Vice President will be there if necessary.
