President John Mahama opens the National Education Consultative Forum.

President John Dramani Mahama opened the National Education Forum on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Ho in the Volta Region.

The nationwide Forum, which will end on February 28, 2025, is on the theme,” Transforming Education for a Sustainable Future.”

The forum will be structured along zonal stakeholder engagement and town hall meetings under five thematic areas.

The areas are infrastructure; quality education; regulations, accountability and governance; education financing; and research and data.

The zonal engagement in the Volta and Oti regions will take place on February 19, 2025, in Ho.

Greater Accra and Eastern regions engagement will take place on February 21, in Accra, Western and Central Regions will also have their day on February 21 in Cape Coast.

Bolgatanga will host Upper East and Upper West on February 24, while Sunyani will host Western Nort

Upper West, Savannah, and Northern regions engagement will take place on February 25 in Tamale, while the Ashanti region engagement will take place on February 26 in Kumasi.

There will be a two-day validation from February 27 to 28, 2025.

At the opening ceremony, President John Mahamah apologized for the delayed invitation extended to the Christian Council of Ghana and the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference to participate in the ongoing National Education Forum in Ho.

His apology follows concerns raised by the clergy in a press statement, expressing disappointment over their exclusion from the crucial dialogue on education reforms.

He is of the belief that the forum will yield a positive result.
