President Mahama to receive ORAL Committee report today.

President John Dramani Mahama is set to receive the report from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) Committee today, Monday, February 10, 2024.

This announcement was made by President Mahama.

The ORAL Committee was established by President Mahama as part of his administration’s commitment to retrieve state funds lost through corruption and mismanagement. The initiative, which was a key campaign promise by Mahama, aims to gather information on misappropriated state resources with the intention of guiding the government’s next steps towards accountability and recovery.

Analysts believe the committee’s report will mark a pivotal moment in the process of addressing financial malfeasance. The report is expected to provide insights into the extent of the losses incurred by the state and identify individuals or entities involved in these financial irregularities.

Upon receiving the report, President Mahama will have the option to forward the findings to the Attorney General for further legal action or to decide on other strategic moves based on the committee’s recommendations.

The public and various anti-corruption bodies have been keenly following the work of the ORAL Committee, with expectations high for decisive action against corruption.

The ORAL committee is chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, and includes notable members such as former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, renowned private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
