On Sunday 2 February then the people of Gomoa Takyiam in the Gomoa East Metropolis climax their Akwanbo festival to mobilize some funds to build a chips compound for the community to help get good health care when they are not well.
After their main harvest, the queen mother for Gomoa Takyiam Nana Akua Afoa iii stood on behalf of the Odikro and spoke with Nyce Fm as they celebrated this year’s Akwanbo festival to mobilize some funds to build a chips compound because they don’t have some so anytime someone want to go to the hospital he or she have to go to Potsin but if they have their own chips compound you will go there if is serious then you go to Potsin Polyclinic.
According to her, communities around them like Panfokrom and Adzentem have chip compounds which they go there for treatment when they are not well and communities like Gomoa Takyiam are getting big they need their own chip compound to go there without traveling.
Nana then applauded the youth for their involvement in this year’s Akwanbo festival and appealed to them to continue like that coming next year because together they can build
