Tems Takes Home the Gold: Nigerian Singer Wins Best African Music Performance at 67th Grammy Awards.

In a night filled with excitement and celebration, Nigerian singer Tems emerged victorious at the 67th Grammy Awards, taking home the award for Best African Music Performance for her hit song “Love Me JeJe”.

Tems beat out a talented field of nominees, including fellow Nigerian superstars Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Davido, Lojay, and Burna Boy, to claim the coveted award. The ceremony, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, was a testament to Tems’ hard work and dedication to her craft.

In her emotional acceptance speech, Tems expressed her gratitude to God and her team, dedicating the win to her mother, whose birthday falls the following day. “Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday, and this is her first Grammys. I just want to thank you, ma, because she has really done a lot for me and my brother. Happy birthday, mum,” she said.

Tems’ win marks her second Grammy Award, following her 2023 win for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her contribution to “Wait for U” by Future featuring Drake. This latest achievement solidifies her status as a leading force in global music and further cement Afrobeats’ presence on the world stage.
