“Ghanaians are ungrateful, I spent millions on my movie but I didn’t get any awards.

A renowned movie producer and actor Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lilwin, on his earlier submission, the Ghana movie awards criticised the scheme when his movie, ” A Country called Ghana” which he featured some Nigerian superstar, Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu, Omar Krupp, Paa George, Afriyie Forson, and others. “I had to pay over Forty Thousand Dollars to get a Nigerian actor, Ramsey Noah for his role in the movie”. “There was one guy I wanted to feature but, the money he was demanding was huge and I couldn’t pay. When I called him, they thought I was a Nigerian, and wanted to charge higher. Even his accommodation and feeding were not included in the $40,000 I paid him”.

“The promotion I did for the movie was more than one million Ghana cedis. Ghanaians don’t understand promotion. It was because of the promotion that I bought the Benz and it helped me. The attention the Benz got me is another reason why the ministers and MPs came to Accra to watch the premiere. I did over twenty billboards and also over four thousand pieces of T-shirts. Just calculate the amount of money I spent on that,” he further noted.

At the recent Ghana Movie Awards, the movie a country called Ghana failed to get any awards which made him share his disappointment.
