Mfantsiman: MP, GHS begin 2 weeks Health Screening for constitutes

The Ghana Health Service in collaboration with Mfantsiman Member of Parliament, Hon Ophelia Quansah Hayford has commenced a Free 2-week Health Screening exercise in the Constituency.

Speaking to NYCE FM reporter Odehyeeba Gilbert, the Administrator for Saltpond Government Hospital, Mr. Amponsah Agyarkoh said most people are unable to access good healthcare due to financial constraints and lack of health facilities in the constituency.

They have therefore collaborated and initiated the two weeks health screening to pave way for the constituents to access free and quality healthcare.

The MP is financing all aspects of the program including the National Health Insurance renewal.

Hon. Ophelia Mensah Hayford in her remarks noted that the move is to help bring healthcare to the doorsteps of the people and reduce the resort to churches and other spiritual homes due to the perception that every disease is spiritual.

There is therefore the need to create an avenue to sensitive the public and that is one of the things the exercise seeks to achieve.
