New Patriotic Party sets September 18-20 for National Executive elections.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its National Executive elections will take place from September 18 to 20, 2026, as part of a comprehensive roadmap for the party’s internal electoral calendar.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, February 18, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, outlined the detailed schedule leading up to the polls.

According to him, nominations will open from August 10 to 14, 2026. Aspirants are expected to file their nominations between August 15 and 17, after which vetting of candidates will be conducted from August 20 to 23.

The filling fees for National Chairperson are GHC50,000, Vice Chairperson, GHC30,000, and that of General Secretary is GHC20,000.

The vetting report will be presented on August 25, with an appeals window set for August 28 and 29. The national executive elections will then be held between September 18 and 20, 2026.

Mr. Kodua Frimpong further revealed that the tenure of some party officials is expected to expire within the electoral period. To ensure continuity and avoid disruptions, the party has extended the mandates of polling station executives, constituency executives, branch executives, electoral area coordinators, and regional executives.

He explained that the extension is aimed at guaranteeing a smooth and orderly internal electoral process.

“This will help not to distort the elections,” he stated.
