The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of allowances to National Service Personnel (NSP) across the country, following concerns over delays in disbursements.
In a press release dated February 17, 2026, and signed by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority assured personnel and stakeholders that concrete steps are being taken to expedite the payment of outstanding stipends owed to legitimate service personnel.

According to the statement, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has already advanced funds covering two months of allowances to facilitate the payment process. However, the NSA explained that the delay stems from an ongoing verification exercise being conducted by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).

Management emphasized that the verification process is necessary to ensure accuracy and uphold financial integrity before final payments are effected. The Authority acknowledged the patience and resilience demonstrated by service personnel during the period of delay, noting that their contribution to national development remains deeply valued.
The NSA further assured that all verified and legitimate arrears are expected to be cleared by the close of the week. It pledged to continue providing timely updates through its official communication channels to keep personnel fully informed.
The statement comes amid growing anticipation among National Service Personnel awaiting their stipends, with many hopeful that the assurance will translate into swift action in the coming days.
