Electricity tariff review: Energy Minister to address parliament next week.

The Minister for Energy is expected to appear before parliament next week to explain the rationale behind the increment in electricity tariff.

The Minority in Parliament raised the issue after the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) announcement on 2.45% increase in electricity tariffs, set to take effect from July 1, 2025.

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga said though the Minister will appear to respond, the mess was not created under this government.

He argues that the current electricity debt should be settled hence the need for the review.
