BREMAN WANSABIAMPA WOMEN’S GROUP HOLD WORKSHOP ON JOB TRAINING.

Women in Breman Wansabiampa in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District in the central region have formed a group called Wansabiampa Women’s Group (W.W.G) aiming at empowering the youths to have skills to create their own job ventures in order to enable them to move in life.

Some of their areas of training include soap making (Azuma blow), shower gel, after-wash, and many more.

The main purpose for forming the group is to assist the youths to acquire some handiwork as Women to help their husbands in their livelihood.

The group was formed five years ago with a small number of women but has now expanded.

Upon this note, they have held a workshop on enlarging their capacity to train more youths in job creation.

The Organizer of the Women’s Group, Madam Esther Dughan, expressed the aim and the objectives of the group on the need for a woman to learn something with your hands in connection with book knowledge.

She added that they formed the group to assist their husbands and children in their livelihoods as Women so that, children upbringing and home management would not be a burden for only the husbands.

Madam Esther Dughan then entreated the youths in Ghana to be very serious about learning something with their hands.

She said, that although, the group was formed five years but still has some challenges which need the government’s attention.

She said they are pleading with the government, NGOs, philanthropists, Corporate bodies, and churches to come to their aid, either in cash or in kind to enable them to build a center and a warehouse for expansion.

Moreover, Maame Adwoa Habiba, the mother of the group, and Treasurer for the group, Madam Akua Essaaba on behalf of the leaders of the group also entreated the youths in Ghana to involve themselves in job learning in order to help curb prostitution, begging on roadsides and many more.

She said, a woman can sell pure water, bread, etc. rather than begging on the roadsides.

She then urged boys too to refrain from smoking and other deviance and learn jobs.

Still pleading for support, they also pleaded with the government for support.

The patron for the group, Mr. Ernest K. Acquah also added his pleading voice by calling on the government, philanthropists, NGOs, and other cooperating bodies to assist them in building a place for the training, acquiring machines and chemicals for the soap, etc.
