Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District used to be one of the peaceful districts in the central region when it’s comes to crime rate but it seems the good record is changing as notorities, hooliganism, stealing and other criminal activities have raised its ugly head in the area for the past few years till date.
With this regards, the residents of Breman Bedum in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District in the central region are with loud voice appealing to the First Gentleman of the Land, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, through their member of Parliament, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah and the Interior Ministry to kindly give them a police station to help curb the said trending detrimental cases in the area.
In an interview with Nyce Media journalist, Nana Yaw Idan, the residents lamented cases where people contract Indian hemp( wee smokers) to collect monies from their debtors of which the smokers beat and molest the debtors mercilessly in the very bad process.
In the cocoa growing area, the boys around have started stealing cocoa at drying places, and out of fear and panic, they don’t have any say because they will never take the result lightly if they utter a word.
They are saying, the( wee) smokers in the area those doing that.
When you report them at Breman Asikuma police station too, the policemen will rather tell you the complainant to hire a vehicle and bring the suspect, and before you go back, the suspect has run away and if you are not lucky, the life of that complainant will be in danger because the suspect can monitor the complainant,s movement and harm him or her.
They say, communities like Bedum, Wansabiampah, Tebi, Ato Dauda, Anyinasu, Boso, Solomon among others have no police station .
They report culprits at Ajumako police station, Bisease, Breman Asikuma, and Assin Manso which is very bad.
The residents of Breman Bedum and its environs are now living in fear so the government must give them a police station.
