UEW-K granted autonomy by parliament.

Parliament on Monday, 10th August,2020, passed the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development Bill that would give legal backing to the proposed conversion of the Kumasi Campus of the University of Education, Winneba, after late industrialist, Akenten Appiah-Menka.
