The Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, has strongly condemned the killing of a military officer in Bawku on Monday, March 17, 2025.
In a press statement, the Bawku Naba described the act as senseless and called on authorities to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice.
The slain officer was reportedly moving unarmed through the Kpalore-Avengo enclave of Bawku when gunmen opened fire, killing him instantly.
Although he was not fully dressed in military attire, he was said to be wearing camouflage.
The incident has reignited tensions in the area, heightening fear and panic among residents.
