The minister for Trade, industry, and Agribusiness, Madam Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare, visited the people of Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem to assess the current state of the Komenda sugar factory to get all information necessary to make sure the factory works again.
Addressing the media, Mad. Adjare assured the community of the government’s serious interest in making sure the factory gets back to its sugar production. She added that the factory will work under the 24-hour economy system to provide more jobs for the youths.
“The Komenda sugar factory will start working soon. Raw materials will be made available under the “Feed The Industry” project for farmers. Funding will be available for it to start production to reduce the import of sugar into this country. Komenda sugar factory will be under the 24-hour Economy factories.”
She said they will involve strategic investors in the operationalization of the factory to realize its goals of producing sugar and reducing the import of sugar.
