The government has approved a 10% salary increment for public sector workers following successful negotiations between Labour Union representatives and President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Dr. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo, were also present at the meeting.

The salary adjustment will take effect on March 1, 2025. In line with this, all establishments, institutions, and organizations whose daily minimum wages fall below the new rate have been directed to make the necessary adjustments.
This marks the second wage increment following a significant 23% salary adjustment in 2024, which aimed to cushion workers against rising living costs.
The latest increase is expected to bring relief to thousands of public sector employees.
