Tension shouldnot be created in this country where there is a non-labor consultant to CLOGSAG.

The Civil Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called on its members to prepare for a nationwide industrial action set for Thursday, February 20, 2025. Ghanaian culture-inspired products

The planned strike is in protest against the continued tenure of Samuel Adom Botchway at the Births and Deaths Registry, despite government assurances that he would be removed from office.

According to CLOGSAG, Mr. Botchway’s participation in the office’s budget hearing at the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs on Monday, February 17, 2025, is evidence that he remains in his role, contrary to the government’s earlier commitment.

In a statement signed by Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo, the association reaffirmed that the strike will proceed as scheduled unless their concerns are addressed.

The government has called on the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to reconsider its decision to go on strike, following the appointment of Samuel Adom Botchway, Registrar of the Births and Deaths Registry.

Meanwhile a Labour consultant Mr.Austin Gamey says they can go to a place where they can have this matter resolved but to demand their members to go on strike is not appropriate.

So they shouldn’t create tension in this country where there are supposed to be none. I have respect for them but the angle they are coming from is inappropriate.
