Mahama Ayariga testifies on the vetting chaos.

The Majority Leader of the 9th Parliament Mahamah Ayariga has appeared before the special committee to narrate his side of the story on what transpired in parliament leading to the chaos during the proceedings.

The committee investigating the chaos during the vetting of ministerial nominees began public hearings today Wednesday, February 5.

Established by Speaker Alban Bagbin, the committee aims to examine the events surrounding the disruption on January 30, which resulted in a clash between the Minority and Majority over the vetting timing and the destruction of equipment.

The committee, chaired by Ho West MP Emmanuel Bedzrah, includes members Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Anwataazuma Ziedeng. It has been given a 10-day deadline to report its findings and recommendations.

According to him, the videos circulating are true while confirming such events happening.

The chaos was as a result of the vetting of Akandoh and Okudzeto as the minority said they were tired and cannot proceed to vet them in the night.
