The Former Minister for Information and Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and the newly approved Minister of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu has engaged in a heated debate over the reduction in Ministerial portfolio.
The current President John Dramani Mahamah’s administration has reduced the number of ministries from 30 to 23 including the scrapping of the Information Ministry.
Debating on the floor of Parliament, Mr Oppong Nkrumah said there is no significant reduction in cost the government will be spending on the 60 ministers.
According to him, the number of staff and budget will not be reduced hence the consolidation and reduction in ministries will not reduce cost.
