The Institute of Education Research and Innovative Studies of the University of Education, Winneba has organized a seminar to share their findings on a research they conducted on indiscipline in Senior High Schools in Ghana.
The study, which focused on understanding what accounted for the gross indiscipline witnessed across various Senior High Schools in Ghana spoke to students, head teachers, housemasters, and school counselors, among others to understand their perspectives.
Speaking on the reason why they decided to embark on this research, Mr. Andrews Acquah (Research Fellow at IERIS – UEW) indicated that the everyday news of clashes in schools, students setting school facilities on fire, students fighting teachers, among others prompted them to do this research.
Speaking after the presentation, some students confirmed that these acts of indiscipline really take place in their schools, and they believe it is time to act on it promptly.
