Sonnie Badu, and Nana Aba respond to the Black Stars’ World Cup qualification victory over Mali.

After the Black Stars of Ghana triumphed over Mali on June 6, 2024, several celebrities, including Sonnie Badu and Nana Aba, expressed their excitement.

Gospel musician Sonnie Badu commended Jordan Ayew for his crucial goal that secured an away victory for the squad in Bamako, Mali.

He conveyed his trust in the current technical team, under the leadership of Otto Addo, to bring success to the team despite past tournament setbacks.

“Ayew!! The unforgettable name in Ghana football. Well done, team… Yours truly, Mr. Online Coach. I have faith in you… I’ll be waiting in Atlanta…” Badu shared on his Instagram page.

Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah expressed her excitement on X after Ghana triumphed over Mali, a match that some doubted Ghana’s chances of winning. She lauded Black Stars captain Thomas Partey for leading the team to victory.

“We are Partying. Kudos to the Black Stars. Mali, team foooooo se,” Nana Aba posted on her X page.

The Black Stars showcased a resilient performance on Thursday evening, clinching a late victory over the Eagles in the third round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Jordan Ayew and Ernest Nuamah found the back of the net for the team.

Following the victory against Mali, the Black Stars currently sit in second place in Group I as they gear up for their upcoming match against the Central African Republic.
