The former NPP presidential aspirant Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen after withdrawing from the race announced his intent to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential elections.
He officially launched his party, Movement for Change, symbolized by a butterfly.
People have expressed concerns about the choice of a butterfly as the party emblem, questioning its ability to bring about significant change due to the butterfly’s fragile nature
Alan explained in an interview that the butterfly emblem represents hope and symbolizes the Movement for Change’s commitment to bringing new developments and hope to the people of Ghana. He believes that the Movement for change is just want the people need.
Alan firmly asserts that the Movement for Change aims to break the dominance of the NPP and NDC in Ghana’s political landscape. He emphasized that since 1992, only these two parties have taken the lead, and the lack of progress has left people yearning for a new direction. The Movement for Change seeks to provide that hope and bring about much-needed development.
Alan also expressed his commitment to making his party the voice for the voiceless in the country. He recognized that many people feel unheard and decided to establish the Movement for Change to be their advocate and speak up on their behalf.
