Queen mother calls on government to reduce taxes on sanitary pad.

Nana Ekua Benyiwa, the queen mother Agona Mensahkrom as part of their preparation towards their Akwambo festival, invited Agona east district health directorate team to educate the basic school children about teenage pregnancy.

The queen mother delivering her speech lamented that teenage pregnancy is on the rise in the community and also the district and the nation at large.

She also presented sanitary pads to some female teens. The queen mother also appealed to the president to subsidise taxes on the pads to make it affordable for the teens.

Madam Florence Ankamah, a nurse from district health directorate with her team stood on behalf of her team and advised to the children about teenage pregnancy

According to her, the parents should exercise their maximum responsibility to ensure that the teens abstain from pregnancy.
