Workers in Ghana Need Affordable Housing, an Effective Transport System, and Good Roads – Education Minister

The Minister of Education, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, has emphasized that the welfare of Ghanaian workers largely depends on three key needs: affordable housing, an efficient transport system, and good road infrastructure.

According to him, addressing these fundamental needs will significantly improve the living conditions of workers and boost productivity across all sectors of the economy.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament yesterday, Mr. Iddrisu noted that many Ghanaian workers struggle daily due to high accommodation costs, unreliable transport systems, and deplorable road networks. He stressed that any government committed to improving the lives of citizens must prioritize these three areas.

Workers in Ghana need only three things: affordable housing, an effective transport system, and good roads. Once these are in place, every other aspect of their lives will improve,” he said.

Mr. Iddrisu further called for stronger collaboration between government agencies and the private sector to invest in sustainable housing schemes, modern transport infrastructure, and the rehabilitation of major roads across the country.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the working population enjoys better living and working conditions, adding that improving infrastructure is key to achieving national development goals.
