Traditional leaders in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region have taken a front seat in this month’s National Sanitation Day exercise, a move aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and community participation.

For the first time in Gomoa Central, traditional authorities have come out in their numbers to lead and support the National Sanitation Day exercise. The cleanup activity brought together chiefs, queen mothers, assembly officials, and residents, all working together to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
District Chief Executive, Hon. Hackman Kobina Aidoo, expressed his appreciation to the traditional leaders for their support and participation. He described their involvement as a major step toward strengthening community cooperation in environmental sanitation. According to him, “This is the first time we are seeing such a huge turnout of traditional leaders, and I’m truly grateful. I encourage them to keep supporting sanitation initiatives to help prevent diseases in our communities.”
The Odikro of Gomoa Mangoase, Nana Okofo Ogyefo Amoako II, also commended residents for their active participation. He further appealed to the government to introduce strict bylaws to punish sanitation offenders.”It is important for the government to enact and enforce bylaws so that those who violate sanitation rules face punishment. This will help us maintain a clean environment.”
