Shatta Wale was unable to provide documents confirming ownership of his flashy Lamborghini Urus.

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has come under public scrutiny after reports emerged that he was unable to provide documents confirming ownership of his flashy Lamborghini Urus.

The controversy began after images and videos of the luxury vehicle, valued at over $300,000, circulated widely on social media, with the musician flaunting it as part of his expensive car collection. However, according to sources, questions were raised regarding the official registration and documentation of the car.

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has disclosed that popular Ghanaian musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been unable to provide credible evidence of ownership or lawful acquisition of a Lamborghini Urus vehicle in his possession.

According to an official statement issued by EOCO on Thursday August 21, Shatta Wale claimed to have purchased the luxury vehicle from “the Street,” adding that the seller might be someone called “ZAK” who allegedly contacted him via WhatsApp.

Neither Shatta Wale nor his management has released an official statement on the matter. The situation has fueled heated discussions online, with supporters defending him and detractors accusing him of living a fabricated lifestyle.

However, the artist admitted that he neither knows the individual’s true identity nor retains the WhatsApp contact used in the transaction.
The statement further indicated that Shatta Wale failed to present any formal documentation—such as a sales receipt or transfer documents—proving his ownership of the vehicle. The only document in his possession is a customs declaration form, which bears the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, an individual currently serving a jail sentence.
