Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has signed a major sponsorship agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to support the Black Stars and other national football teams.

The partnership, announced in Accra, will see MTN provide both financial and logistical backing to Ghana’s senior men’s team, the Black Stars, as well as the Black Queens, Black Meteors, and other national squads. The deal is expected to cover upcoming international tournaments, qualifiers, and preparatory activities.
The partnership was officially announced on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at a ceremony in Accra. MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett described the deal as a commitment to deepening the relationship between the company, the GFA, and the nation’s football fraternity.
This sponsorship deepens the bond between the people of Ghana, the GFA, the ministry, and the sports community. It’s about national pride, youth empowerment, gender inclusion, and building a sustainable future for football in our country, Blewett said.
