Ghana midfielders sign four-year contract with French side.

Promising Ghanaian midfielder Abu Francis has officially signed a four-year contract with French Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC, completing a major move that marks a significant milestone in his rising football career.

The 23-year-old, formerly of Belgian side Cercle Brugge, sealed the deal after passing a medical in France earlier this week. Toulouse reportedly paid around €2.5 million for his services — a signal of the club’s confidence in his abilities.

Abu Francis began his football journey at Ghana’s prestigious Right to Dream Academy, earning a move to Danish side FC Nordsjælland, where he quickly made an impression with his work rate and composure on the ball.

In 2022, he transferred to Cercle Brugge in the Belgian top flight, where he made over 60 league appearances and contributed with a goal and several assists. His performances in Belgium also earned him a call-up to the Ghana senior national team, where he has made five appearances since 2024.
