Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways, has announced that drivers who overload their vehicles will be fined to the tune of GH50,000 if parliament approves.

Currently, they are fined to the tune of GH5.00 when they overload their trucks.
This punishment is to prevent truck drivers from overloading goods in the vehicles either at the port or other parts of the country.
He said the overloaded trucks are a major cause of destroying roads across the country.
Additionally, they are planning to fine the driver and also sell some of the goods in the truck and use the money to repair the roads.
He made this known while addressing the media.
