Former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has denied any involvement in the death of a young boy from Nima, whose body was reportedly found in her constituency.

Reacting to growing speculation and accusations circulating on social media and in some political circles, Madam Koomson stated categorically that she has no knowledge of the incident and is prepared to cooperate fully with any investigations.
“I want to put on record that I know absolutely nothing about the boy from Nima who died in my constituency. I am not involved in any way, shape, or form,” she said in an interview with the press.
She described the allegations linking her to the incident as baseless, malicious, and politically motivated attempts to tarnish her image.
“I have served my people with dedication, and I will not allow unfounded accusations to destroy my hard-earned reputation. I am prepared to face any investigative body, whether it is the police, CHRAJ, or a parliamentary committee. My hands are clean,” she asserted.
The former Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister further urged the police to expedite investigations into the boy’s death and bring those responsible to justice.
The incident, which has stirred public concern and political commentary, is currently under police investigation. Meanwhile, residents of Awutu Senya East and the larger Ghanaian public are being urged to remain calm and allow due process to take its course.
Madam Koomson also appealed to the media and the general public to refrain from spreading unverified claims that could endanger lives or disrupt peace in the area.
