Club World Cup: Manchester City’s shock last-16 exit to Al Hilal as  Fluminense shocked Inter Milan in the last 16

Manchester City were knocked out of the Club World Cup at the last-16 stage after losing a seven-goal thriller to Al Hilal; the Saudi Arabian side stunned City in extra-time with Marcos Leonardo hitting a 112th-minute winner in Orlando; Bernardo Silva, Erling Haaland, and Phil Foden had scored for City in the defeat.

The Saudi side will now play Fluminense for a place in the semi-finals after the Brazilian side shocked Inter Milan in the last 16.

City’s defeat ended hopes of a potential all-English semi-final meeting against Chelsea, with the Blues taking on Brazilian side Palmeiras in the quarter-finals on Friday in Philadelphia.
