World Parliament Day – Open parliament steering committee inauguration & launch of action plan

World Parliament Day, also known as the International Day of Parliamentarism, is celebrated annually on 30 June.

This day recognizes the importance of parliaments as the foundation of democracy and a forum for public participation.

Speaking at the program the speaker of parliament said we are observing the International Day of Parliatarism and to inaugurate the Ghana Open Parliament Committee and officially launch the Open Parliament plan.

He said Ghana’s Parliamentary democracy is now thirty-two years strong and has achieved more progress that cannot be over-emphasized.
